For this project for a prestigious hotel brand, our customer was looking for a partner able to produce a series of sheets with particularly demanding geometries.
The project involves around 800 sheets of annealed aluminium, 3 mm thick, in different sizes. Some parts are perforated in R5U12, others remain solid. Their special feature: they incorporate up to five deep-drawn forms of different geometries, with the number of forms adapted to the size of each sheet.
The difficulty was to faithfully reproduce the effect imagined by the architect while controlling the behaviour of the aluminium during deep drawing. Choosing annealed aluminium improves the formability of the material and limits the risk of tearing during deformation.
TPS designed and produced specific deep-drawing tooling, developed exclusively for this project. Several trials made it possible to fine-tune the process and obtain the desired geometry while preserving the appearance of the sheet.
Our work does not stop at deep drawing. Depending on the model, TPS also carries out perforation, bending, notching, the hanging system and four internal weld points.
The result: technical parts, but above all an architectural element with a strong visual identity, produced to the project requirements and prepared for international shipping.
A project that few companies were willing to take on because of its complexity. TPS chose to take up the challenge by developing the right industrial solution.
